Raising the Bar in Public Engagement

November 5, 2010 (9am to 5pm) at St. Edward's University

Join public sector representatives, interested citizens, and public engagement practitioners in this one-day workshop to explore practical strategies for successful public engagement.

  • Attendees will gain greater knowledge of the principles and strategies that foster respect, trust, and the ability to effectively grapple with tough community choices.
  • Interactive sessions will integrate real-world examples from our region and explore lessons learned.
  • Sharing of resources and tools will give attendees new approaches they can apply immediately.

Topics will include:

  • Quality Public Engagement: What does it really take, from design to implementation?
  • Online Tools:  What new tools are available and how do they support effective engagement?
  • Collaborations that Work:  How can we strengthen connections between public administrators, engagement practitioners and the public?

Registration is $85 ($70 for dues-paying NCDD members and $42 for students).  Registration fee includes lunch, resource lists on the three topics listed above, and attendee list.
